木曜にやって金曜は休み、っていうのがモナコに来たのよー!って感じしますよね(来てないって)。
2006 MONACO GRAND PRIX FRIDAY PRACTICE
JUAN PABLO MONTOYA
“A good start to the weekend for us. We seem to be quite competitive and have definitely made progress but its still early days and this is Monaco after all where anything can happen. I completed the planned programme, and the new parts we have introduced seem to have made a difference. The Michelin tyres are working well, so overall we are looking good. I love this track as it’s such a challenge and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”
KIMI RAIKKONEN
“A bit of excitement for me at the end of the first practice. I went out with less than one minute to go to complete an installation lap and a practice start. However there was a small fire which caused some damage – a bit more than necessary as the Fire Marshalls were hesitant until I took the fire extinguisher myself. The team did a great job in making the necessary repairs and I was able to get some running in half way through the second session. I’m pleased with what we have achieved so far and we look competitive, but there is still along way to go.”

僕らにとって良い週末のスタートだった。僕らはコンペティティヴなようだし、確実に前進しているけど、まだ木曜日だし、ここは結局何でも起こりうるモナコだ。僕は計画通りのプログラムを完了し、僕らが導入した新しいパーツ(フレキシブル・ウイングのことか?!)は効果をもたらしたようだ。ミシュランタイヤはよく機能しているし、全体的に僕らはいい感じだよ。僕はこのトラックへの挑戦が好きだし、週末の残りをとても楽しみにしている。

1回目のフリー走行の終わりはちょっとエキサイティングだった。残り1分のところで僕はインスタレーションラップとプラクティスの開始のために出て行った。でも少し炎が上がってダメージを負った。マーシャルが躊躇ったから、僕が消火器を持って行って自分で火を消したんだ。チームは素晴らしい仕事でマシンを修復してくれ、2回目の後半で再び走ることができた。僕らがここまで成し遂げたことに満足しているし、コンペティティヴなようだけれどまだまだ週末は続く。
そういうことだったのね!続報では、エンジンの近くで火が出て、ワイヤーが何本かとハイドロリック系のパーツが燃えたそうですが、そこはマクラーレンクルー、いい仕事した!!モナコじゃみんなフリーを走らないとまずいもんねぇ。
しかし火を消してみたり、氷のクルマに乗ってみたり、バス運転してみたり、最近のキミたんは色々やってますなー。
